Jamesfield 49MW BESS Project

Project Location:
Jamesfield
Client Name:
Tesla
Challenge
Design and build for new technology with unknown factors associated with new equipment for both Civil and Electrical design.
Detailed design development progressed alongside construction works with rigorous review and approval process.
Poor ground conditions, high water table and historical carrier drainage features.
Land drains required investigation, assessment and diversion.
DNO grid route design to establish suitable 33kV cable route to futureproof for planned expansion of adjacent DNO substation.
Implementation of split site arrangement during live construction works to offset significant delivery delays of DNO Switchgear.
Challenging programme requirements for electrical balance of plant phase to achieve early entry into the market.
Solution
Our Balance of Plant (BoP) Electrical and Civils solution included:
Earthworks 9,000m³
Drainage/Ducting 450m Earthing 950m
