Last week saw two awards ceremonies celebrate our teams, as some of our colleagues were recognised for their talent, leadership, and impact at two leading regional awards events. From future leaders to seasoned professionals, these accolades reflect the passion and dedication that drive our teams and our business forward.
Generation for Change Awards
At the G4C (Generation for Change) North West Awards, part of the Constructing Excellence network, we were proud to see several of our colleagues shortlisted. These awards celebrate the rising stars and forward-thinking organisations shaping the future of infrastructure and construction.
Our shortlisted nominees were:
Commitment to Employee & Training Development: OCU Group Learning & Development Team
Mentor of the Year: Paul Walker, Head of Rail, OCU Connect
Apprentice of the Year: Seainin Treanor, SHEQ Advisor
New Professional of the Year: Sadia Sultanah, Graduate Electrical Designer, OCU Connect
Future Leader Award: Amy Witts, Degree Apprentice Quantity Surveyor
We are immensely proud of our Learning & Development team, who won the Commitment to Employee & Training Development award. This success reflects our ongoing investment in supporting early careers and creating inclusive pathways to progression — demonstrated by our recent Gold accreditation from The 5% Club and the launch of our Women in Leadership apprenticeship programme. Congratulations also to Amy Witts, who was Highly Commended in the Future Leader category.
North West Finance Awards
Meanwhile in Manchester, at the North West Finance Awards 2025 Our shortlisted nominees were:
Finance Transformation & Change: OCU Group Finance Team
Finance Director of the year (Over £100m turnover)
In another great win here David Snowball, our Group Finance Director, was named Finance Director of the Year (over £100m turnover).
This highly regarded award recognises David’s exceptional leadership, strategic influence, and the positive impact of his work across both the Finance team and the wider business, a much deserved award that highlights excellence in financial management and business leadership.
A Shared Success
These achievements represent far more than individual recognition, they reflect the collective hard work, commitment, and values that define us as a Group.
To all our nominees, winners, and teams: thank you for your contributions, your passion, and your continued drive to shape a stronger, high-performing future for OCU Group.
