As OCU Group continues to grow at pace, investing in early-career talent is a key part of building long-term capability.

Across the Group, graduate and apprenticeship programmes are supporting the development of future engineers, project professionals, skilled tradespeople and support specialists.

In the UK, graduates and apprentices gain experience across a wide range of disciplines, working within engineering, commercial, operational and support teams. A key feature of these programmes is the opportunity to contribute to live project environments from an early stage, building practical experience alongside structured learning.

OCU’s graduate schemes combine hands-on delivery with professional development, including team rotations, site-based experience, mentorship and support towards industry qualifications. This approach helps our early careers individuals to develop a well-rounded understanding of how complex infrastructure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

Alongside this, recent graduate assessment centres have supported the recruitment of new talent across the UK, bringing individuals into the business who align with OCU’s values and long-term ambitions.

Across our Australia and New Zealand operations, early-career pathways play an equally important role in supporting growth across renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Apprenticeships and graduate programmes provide practical, on-site experience while reinforcing the safety culture and technical standards that underpin delivery across the region.

By continuing to invest in early-career development across both the UK and ANZ, OCU is strengthening its workforce, supporting succession planning and building the capability needed to deliver infrastructure for the future.
