Strengthening water delivery in Yorkshire through AMP8

OCU’s partnership with Yorkshire Water continues to strengthen as AMP8 progresses, building on a strong foundation of performance, collaboration and delivery across the region.
Since entering Yorkshire in 2020, OCU has supported programmes across the Clean and Waste Infrastructure and Customer Focussed Infrastructure Frameworks, delivering essential works to improve services for customers. These include lead replacement, minor capital works and internal flooding mitigation schemes, all delivered to meet regulatory requirements set by Ofwat.
A strong AMP8 programme
Following consistent performance across AMP7, OCU secured a four-year extension into AMP8, providing strong visibility and confidence in the partnership.
Works have been delivered using 16 dedicated teams, supported by five specialist subcontractors, demonstrating the ability to scale resource while maintaining quality and consistency.
Integrated design and delivery
A key part of OCU’s approach has been the development of a dedicated in-house design team, co-located with operational teams in Leeds. This integrated model supports seamless progression from planning through to delivery, improving coordination and programme efficiency.
Scaling delivery across AMP8
As AMP8 progresses, activity continues to increase. Year 2 output is forecast to reach approximately 75km, delivered through a combination of open-cut installation and trenchless techniques, with OCU’s HDD teams contributing significantly to the programme.
Looking ahead, further works are already being developed for Year 3, reinforcing strong forward visibility and a sustained programme of delivery across the region.
With an established regional team, integrated design capability and a strong delivery track record, OCU is well positioned to support Yorkshire Water’s investment plans throughout AMP8.
By combining collaboration, technical expertise and programme certainty, OCU continues to deliver reliable, customer-focused infrastructure for communities across Yorkshire.
