We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Pilecom Pty Ltd (“Pilecom”), a specialist provider of pre-enablement engineering for solar farm and energy infrastructure services in Australia. As OCU continues its international journey, this investment enhances the Group’s capability across mechanical solution delivery, module installation and ground engineering in the fast-growing renewable energy and resources sectors.
Pilecom, based in Perth, Australia, has established a strong track record in utility-scale solar projects, delivering comprehensive services including pile testing and geotechnical investigation, precision pile driving, hard rock drilling, mechanical assembly and solar module installation. Pilecom’s approach combines in-house specialist equipment and experienced personnel to deliver reliable outcomes on complex renewable infrastructure works.
This acquisition positions OCU to accelerate delivery of integrated renewables infrastructure services for existing and new clients by building deeper in-market execution capability and capacity.
Michael Hughes, CEO of OCU Group, commented: “Investing in Pilecom is a strategic step that enhances our operational footprint and technical strength in Australia’s renewable energy market. Pilecom’s comprehensive offering from foundational geotechnical works through to mechanical module installation aligns with our commitment to delivering high quality, end-to-end solutions for clients.”
Luke Cousins, Managing Director of Pilecom, said: “Our team of specialist professionals has built a first-class reputation grounded in quality and technical precision, safely and effectively delivering projects totalling 2 gigawatts of installed solar capacity across Australia. Joining OCU Group gives us the scale and support to extend our reach while maintaining the exceptional operational standards our clients expect.”
Steve Urquhart, founder of All Energy Contracting (“AEC”) an OCU Group company, added: “We have seen Pilecom’s work and respect the depth of their expertise across some of Australia’s largest solar farm builds. Bringing this capability into the OCU Group will strengthen our collective delivery model and help meet the growing demand for specialist energy infrastructure in the region.”
The move supports OCU’s disciplined international expansion strategy and adds further depth to its growing platform in Australia and New Zealand.
